Nearly 55,000 people attended Metallica's show in Hämeenlinna, Finland, representing one percent of the Finnish population of 5.503 million.

The show broke the attendance record for the venue and was also recorded as the biggest concert to ever happen in the Baltic country.

The heavy metal band was at Kantola Event Park in the city of Hämeenlinna on Tuesday as part of their WorldWired tour.

Metallica donated one euro for every member of the audience to the Finnish children's charity Hope.

The band members thanked music lovers who came out to Kantolan Tapahtumapuisto to help the musicians raise money.

"With the help of all the fans attending #MetInHameenlinna, @Metallica is able to make this contribution to HOPE - Yhdessä & Yhteisesti and their work toward providing children in Finland with more equal opportunities for a good everyday life," Metallica said on Instagram, posting a photo of the band members holding a check for 55,000 euros.
