The classic David Bowie sci-fi film, The Man Who Fell To Earth, is being adapted for television.
CBS All Access said a television series based on the movie will explore "the next chapter" of the story.
In the film, Bowie played the character of Thomas Jerome Newton, who is an alien but pretends to be a human. The cult classic 1976 film was based on a Walter Tevis novel.
Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet are the scriptwriters and executive producers of the project, produced by CBS TV Studios.
"Walter Tevis' visionary novel gave us a Tech God Willy Wonka from another planet, brought to life by David Bowie's legendary performance, that foretold Steve Jobs' and Elon Musk's impact on our world," Kurtzman and Lumet said in a statement.
"The series will imagine the next step in our evolution, seen through the eyes of an alien who must learn what it means to become human, even as he fights for the survival of his species," they added.
