A brand-new 5 CD David Bowie box set is set to be released later this year and includes 12 previously unreleased tracks.

Titled Conversation Piece, the box set tracks the early development of the late rock star from 1968 to 1969 via "home demos, BBC radio sessions, studio recordings with guitarist John 'Hutch' Hutchinson and the experimental music and mime group, Feathers."

The set also celebrates the 50th anniversary of Bowie's 1969 self-titled classic, David Bowie, a.k.a Space Oddity, which has been remixed by longtime producer and collaborator of the singer, Tony Visconti.

"It was so much fun to find hidden gems of musicianship with more time to mix the second time around, a guitar twiddle here, a trombone blast there, Marc Bolan's voice in a group choir and more detail in general that we overlooked all those years ago when the label gave us a week at the most to mix this album. And in the details you will find 22 year old David Bowie, who would soon take the world by storm," said Visconti.

The mix will also be available separately on CD and digital streaming platforms.

Also included is a 120-page hardbound book featuring exclusive memorabilia from Bowie's archive and his former manager, the late Ken Pitt.

The box set is slated for release via Parlophone Records on November 15, 2019 and is available for pre-order now.
