My Chemical Romance have expressed gratitude for the overwhelming interest fans have shown in reaction to the news of the band's reunion.
Tickets for the December 20 show at the 6,300-capacity Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles sold out almost immediately
"It is truly unbelievable to us the happiness we have experienced over the past two days," My Chemical Romance wrote on Twitter. "From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the warm welcome back. We truly did not expect this. See you soon."
The rock band from Newark, New Jersey, split in March 2013, one month after the final release in the Conventional Weapons series.
Following the band's break-up, the members of the band continued to pursue music either going solo or joining collaborations.
The band's current lineup consists of lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way.
