In a recent interview with Pollstar, Jon Bon Jovi spoke about the departure of former bandmate Richie Sambora, stating he believes the guitarist's choices "led him astray."

Sambora, who left Bon Jovi prior to their scheduled Because We Can Tour stop in Calgary, has often stated that the reason for the unexpected exit was so that he could spend more time with his family.

"I just needed to be home. I think people don't understand exactly what that means. You don't get to come home. There's a huge sacrifice in that. I missed a lot of my daughter's life," Sambora shared in late 2013.

"This isn't a band that is dependent on the guitar player like Van Halen or U2 or something," Bon Jovi said in the interview, adding that he deeply wishes that Sambora could re-join the band's current lineup.

"I wish he was here, too, because we were a formidable duo," he admitted. "Our voices were the magic and he's a great guy and all that kind of stuff, but his choices have led him astray."

In the meantime, the superstar recently finished a brand-new album, 2020, that is yet to receive a release date and has also teamed up with Bob Roux and Denis Desmond of Live Nation to plan a tour across the U.K. and Europe, news of which is expected to arrive soon.
