Shakira, J-Lo See Jump In Sales After Super Bowl Halftime Show

Shakira and Jennifer Lopez have seen significant increases in sales of their music following their epic performance during this year's Super Bowl halftime show.

A report from Billboard citing initial sales reports to Nielsen Music said the collection of songs performed by Shakira and J-Lo during the halftime show garnered a 1,013 percent spike in U.S. sales on Sunday.

Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" was the top selling song among those performed, with nearly 4,000 sold on Sunday. Sales of the song soared 1,194 percent compared to the negligible figure posted the day
before.

Billboard said the second-largest selling halftime tune was another Shakira track, "Hips Don't Lie," which sold 2,000 downloads, up 1,126% from the previous day.

News on streaming gains gleaned from the halftime show are expected to be announced in the coming days, Billboard noted.
