The New Orleans' Jazz & Heritage Festival has been postponed due to coronavirus concerns.

The annual festival, which was scheduled to be held during April 23-26 and April 30 - May 3, will now be moved to the fall.

Jazz Fest said they took the decision at the direction of City of New Orleans authorities, and in response to ongoing COVID-19 health concerns.

"The health and safety of the community, our musicians, Festival fans, participants, sponsors and staff are paramount, and we urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials", says a statement on the festival website.

The re-scheduled dates and additional details will be announced soon.

The organizers have promised to honor the tickets purchased for the original dates for the fall dates.
