Metallica have launched their Batch 100 limited-edition box set of Blackened American Whiskey.

The Batch 100 limited-edition box set comes with the booze and two exclusive 12" vinyl picture discs featuring the Metallica playlist selected by Blackened's Master Distiller & Blender Rob Dietrich and used during the sonic enhancement process of Batch 100.

Not just that, it also contains the first issue of the Blackened Zine and features Dietrich and Lars Ulrich's commentary on the whiskey blending process.

The set also contains images of the heavy metal heavyweights, a guitar pick, stickers and behind-the-scenes footage of Metallica's headquarters and rehearsal space.

According to a press release, the playlist for the new Batch 100 was curated by master distiller and blender Dietrich, the first non-Metallica person to chose the songs.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to be able to create a whiskey and pour so much of myself personally into the process," Dietrich said in the release. "Music and distilling are two things I have dedicated my life to, and I do not take for granted how rare it is to be able to blend, literally, these worlds."

Ulrich said, "When I look at Rob's playlist, I love the selections. I love the variety and I love that he's gone for two deeper live tracks from the Damaged Justice tour. I love seeing both the Binge & Purge and Through the Never eras represented. And he even tapped the Helping Hands album, so it's clear he is not a part-timer!"

The Batch 100 limited-edition box set has been priced at $149 and can be purchased online at BlackenedWhiskey.com while supplies last.
