Coldplay announced on Thursday (April 29) that they will be releasing their new single, "Higher Power," next Friday (May 7), via Parlophone/Atlantic Records.
"Higher Power is a song that arrived on a little keyboard and a bathroom sink at the start of 2020. It was produced by Max Martin who is a true wonder of the universe. It's out on Friday 7 May. Love c, g, w & j," the band wrote on Twitter.
The band had earlier teased the release through mysterious hieroglyphics that popped up on posters around the world and the billboards pointed to a website called alienradio.fm.
Several fans cracked the alien code shared by the band to correctly reveal the song's title and release.
A section of scrolling text on the top of the band's website shows a long phrase, presumably the lyrics of the song.
"This joy is electric and you're circuiting through / I'm so happy that I'm alive happy I'm alive at the same time as you," it states.
The band, which is set to perform at Glastonbury's special livestream event from Worthy Farm next month, are reportedly working on a new album called Music Of The Spheres.
