J. Cole has dropped a new song, "Interlude," from his upcoming sixth studio album, The Off-Season, which is set to drop on Friday, May 14.
"I be coming in peace, but fuck me/Best beware of the others/This shit deep, undercovers creep/This southern heat make unbearable summers," he raps on the new track. "Just last week, seen your mama weep/crying 'cause she don't wanna bury your brother/The blood leaks while the EMTs gotta carry her baby like surrogate mothers."
The Off-Season is a follow-up to the rapper's 2018 record KOD, as well as his 2019 Dreamville compilation Revenge of The Dreamers III.
KOD had debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking the artist's fifth album to debut atop the chart.
In December 2020, J. Cole had teased three upcoming albums, with The Off-Season being the first. The following albums will be titled It's a Boy and The Fall-Off.
