Joan Jett & The Blackhearts have teamed up with Z2 Comics to bring fans a unique, 40th-anniversary graphic anthology celebrating I Love Rock 'N' Roll and Bad Reputation.
The team "reflected on all the rejection and opposition Joan faced from the industry as a woman with a guitar, especially at the beginning of her career," shared Carianne Brinkman, president of Blackheart Records.
The anthology has been created by renowned female artists from across the world. Also being released is a limited edition "platinum" set, which includes a new Epiphone guitar, gig bag, and a signed certificate of authenticity.
"We thought this was a great opportunity to celebrate comic writers and illustrators who happen to be women, and who, like Joan, are constantly being asked what it's like to be 'a woman…' in their respective industries," Brinkman added.
The comics are available for pre-order now and are due out this fall.
