Kelly Clarkson gave a powerful performance of Olivia Rodrigo's hit "Drivers License" during the "Kellyoke" segment of an episode of "The Kelly Clarkson Show" on Monday (June 14).
"Drivers License" is 18-year-old Rodrigo's debut single that came ahead of her Billboard topping debut album Sour. The song stayed atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight weeks earlier this year.
"Cause you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me / Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street," Clarkson sang, as she drew the song to a close, cutting out the last line.
"Kelly's voice is perfect. She could literally sing the phonebook and it would sound amazing," a fan commented on YouTube.
"I've been waiting for Kelly's cover and she didn't disappoint!" commented another viewer. "She always manages to make the song sound like her own."
