Walgreens, part of the United States segment of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (WBA), and a pharmacy retailer on Tuesday announced that it is now offering flu shots for vaccine-preventable illnesses such as influenza for everyone of age 3 or more. The shots would be available by walk-in or appointment at more than 9,000 store locations nationwide.

With an increase in Covid-19 cases in the U.S, Walgreens is preparing for the co-circulation of both flu and COVID-19 and eligible patients would be able to receive a flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine in a single visit. Patients can also choose to get their flu shot while getting up to date on other routine immunizations like shingles, pneumonia, whooping cough, meningitis, measles, tetanus, typhoid, polio and others.

Walgreens has also enhanced its vaccine scheduler to allow customers to schedule guest appointments as well as other routine immunizations.

The expanded age eligibility would allow administration of flu vaccines to children ages 3 and up nationwide to help protect the entire family against flu. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended everyone over the age of six months to receive a flu shot.
