Elton John has become the oldest artist to top the Australian singles chart as his collaboration with Dua Lipa, "Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)," hit No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
At 74 years, 7 months and 14 day, the legendary singer-songwriter overtook Paul McCartney at the oldest artist to reach No. 1.
Debuting at No. 7 in late August, the track has spent all of its twelve weeks on the chart in the Top Ten, including five straight weeks at No. 2.
It becomes John's first No. 1 single in Australia since "Something About the Way You Look Tonight" / "Candle in the Wind 1997" topped the chart in September 1997.
For Dua Lipa, it is her first ARIA Singles Chart No. 1 after having eight previous Top Ten entries.
"Cold Heart" is the lead single from John's 32nd studio album, The Lockdown Sessions.
The album, released in October, debuted at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart last week.
