The Linda Lindas Share Cat-Inspired New Single 'Nino'

All-female punk rock band The Linda Lindas have shared a new single inspired by vocalist/guitarist Bela Salazar's cat, "Nino."

The song is likely to appear on the Linda Lindas' next studio album, which is expected to release next year.

"Gentlemen by day/Hunter by night," Salazar sings of her cat in the song. "Friendliest cat you'll meet/Will protect you with all his might."

Salazar had previously paid tribute to her other cat, a Siamese named Monica, on the Linda Lindas' 2020 self-titled EP.

The punk rock band went viral after they shared a song, called "Racist, Sexist Boy," which was about an experience the band's drummer Mila de la Garza, who identifies as Asian-American and Latinx, had when a schoolmate made a racist comment before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The video became a viral social media hit, earning praise from Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello, Red Hot Chili Peppers's Flea, Thurston Moore, and Bikini Kill's Kathleen Hanna.

The band inked a record deal with Epitaph soon after, and the following month they made their late night television debut on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
