Sara Evans' husband Jay Barker was arrested for allegedly trying to hit his estranged wife with his car.
The alleged incident occurred after Evans was leaving a party at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15, at a neighbor's house on Norwood Drive in Nashville.
The country music singer and her friend were passing her driveway when Barker reversed his vehicle "at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them, but missed," according to the arrest report.
The former American football quarterback and Birmingham radio personality has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Barker was reportedly released on a $10,000 bond after serving a 12-hour domestic violence hold at Davidson County Jail in Tennessee.
The couple separated in April last year after 12 years of marriage.
