Jennifer Hudson has been named Entertainer Of The Year at the 2022 NAACP Image Awards.
The 40-year-old American singer and actress, who missed out in the Oscar nominations this year, also won the award for Outstanding Actress in a motion picture for playing Aretha Franklin in the biopic Respect.
In her acceptance speech, Hudson expressed gratitude to the NAACP for inspiring "little girls" like her.
"I was just standing here thinking 'It was here - the NAACP Awards - where I watched so many legends and icons that inspired me," said Hudson. "Now, I'm standing here holding an award like this. It's because of seeing the Arethas, the Patti LaBelles, the Halle Berrys, all these legends right here on this stand that inspired me."
A two-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist, Academy Award-winning actress, Emmy Award-winning producer, and best-selling author, Hudson is an extraordinary talent who rose to worldwide acclaim from humble beginnings.
