Country icon Dolly Parton is set to produce and star in a feature film adaption of "Run, Rose, Run."

The movie is based on a novel Parton co-wrote with James Patterson. Parton and Patterson are producing the films for Hello Sunshine.

Hello Sunshine's founder Reese Witherspoon and President of Film and Television, Lauren Neustadter are the co-producers of the upcoming film.

"Run, Rose, Run" is about a young woman who comes to Nashville to pursue her dreams of becoming a country music star. The source of her heart-wrenching songs is a brutal secret she has tried desperately to hide, but the past she has fled is reaching out to control her future—and it may destroy everything she has worked for.

The "Run, Rose, Run" novel, which was published this month, topped the New York Times bestseller list. Parton also released an album of the same name through her label, Butterfly Records.

Hello Sunshine is represented by CAA and Hansen Jacobson. Patterson is represented by CAA and Williams & Connolly LLP, while Parton is represented by CTK Management and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel.
