Taylor Swift recently announced that a new song titled "Carolina" will feature in the forthcoming film adaptation of Delia Owens' hit 2018 novel Where The Crawdads Sing.

A new trailer for the film was shared by Swift that features a snippet of the musician's new song.

"Where The Crawdads Sing is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago. As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side," Swift wrote in the caption.

"I wrote the song 'Carolina' alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it," she added. "I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story."

The film stars Daisy Edgar Jones and is produced by Reese Witherspoon.

"Carolina" is the first new music from Swift since she released the Taylor's Version of Red in 2021. Red (Taylor's Version) is a 30-track re-recording of her 2012 album, which earned the singer her 10th No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Recently, Ed Sheeran's collaboration with Swift, "The Joker and the Queen," debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 21 upon its release, which marked Swift's 86th top 40 hit on the Hot 100.
