After showing a notable advance early in the session, stocks have seen further upside over the course of the trading day on Thursday. The tech-heavy Nasdaq has shown a particularly strong jump, extending the rebound seen in the previous session.
Currently, the major averages are off their highs of the session but still posting strong gains. The Dow is up 580.19 points or 1.8 percent at 32,700.47, the Nasdaq is up 335.58 points or 2.9 percent at 11,770.32 and the S&P 500 is up 87.08 points or 2.2 percent at 4,065.81.
