Kelly Clarkson performed a cover of Alanis Morissette's "Uninvited" during the "Kellyoke" segment of "The Kelly Clarkson Show" on Tuesday, May 31.
"Like anyone would be/ I am flattered by your fascination with me/ Like any hot-blooded woman/ I have simply wanted an object to crave/ Must be strangely exciting/ To watch the stoic squirm/ Must be somewhat heartening/ To watch shepherd need shepherd," Clarkson crooned.
Morissette released "Uninvited" as a single from the soundtrack of City of Angels in February 1998. Morissette wrote the song and co-produced it with Rob Cavallo.
The song did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100 because rules at that time did not allow a song to be included in the list if it was not released as a physical single in the U.S. However, it appeared on the Hot 100 Airplay chart, peaking at number four in June 1998.
