Indie film production company Neon recently released a trailer for the upcoming David Bowie documentary Moonage Daydream.
Moonage Daydream is the first film officially sanctioned by the legend musician's estate.
The 2-minute trailer, which is narrated by Bowie, opens with the singer saying, "You're aware of a deeper existence," over an image of a far-away galaxy, "Maybe a temporary reassurance that indeed there is no beginning, no end… and you find yourself struggling to comprehend a deep mystery."
The film explores the iconic performer's creative, musical and spiritual journey. It is directed by Brett Morgen. The motion picture reveals the icon through his own voice and features 48 of his musical tracks, mixed from their original stems.
Morgen wrote, directed, edited and produced the film, with Hartwig Masuch, Kathy Rivkin-Daum and Justus Haerder exec producing for BMG.
The movie, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, is scheduled to be released in theaters around the world on September 16.
