M.I.A. has teased that her widely anticipated upcoming album, MATA, will feature Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj.
"COMING SOON I PROMISE," the British rapper wrote about her album on her Instagram Stories. "I HAD TO WAIT 2 YEARS FOR A DOJA CAT VERSE …. THEN A NICKI [Minaj] ONE… THEN A …. NEVER MIND IF MATA [ISN'T] OUT SEPT I WILL LEAK IT MYSELF."
In May, M.I.A. dropped the first single from MATA, titled "The One," and dropped "Popular" last month.
MATA, which is a follow-up to 2016's AIM, will be released via her new record label, Island Records. However, no release date has yet been revealed.
Since her 2016 album AIM, M.I.A has only released a handful of standalone singles, including 2017's "POWA" and 2020's "CTRL." She also featured on Travis Scott's "Franchise" alongside Young Thug.
