The Smashing Pumpkins recently announced they will release their 12th studio album, ATUM (pronounced "Autumn"), which will be a three-act rock opera. The band has also released a new song, "Beguiled," from the upcoming album.
The 33-song rock opera is billed as a sequel to 1995's Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and 2000's Machina/Machine Of God.
The songs will be revealed one at a time chronologically via a new podcast called "Thirty-Three with William Patrick Corgan" leading up to the album's release in April 2023.
Billy Corgan wrote and produced the album.
The Smashing Pumpkins said each act of ATUM will be released every 11 weeks, with Act 1 set to arrive on November 15. Act 2 will be out on January 31, 2023, while Act 3 will arrive on April 21.
A special edition box set featuring the album's 33 songs plus 10 additional bonus tracks will also be released on April 21.
