After an initial move to the upside, stocks have shown a lack of direction over the course of morning trading on Friday. The major averages have pulled back off their early highs, with the Nasdaq slipping into negative territory.
Currently, the major averages are turning in a mixed performance. While the Nasdaq is down 31.46 points or 0.3 percent at 11,113.50, the Dow is up 82.00 points or 0.2 percent at 33,628.32 and the S&P 500 is up 1.65 points or less than a tenth of a percent at 3,948.21.
