Tory Lanez is facing an additional felony charge in the case against him over his alleged shooting of Megan Thee Stallion two years ago.
Megan claims that Lanez shot her in the foot while they were in a vehicle together in the Hollywood Hills area in 2020.
In her first television interview about the incident in April, Megan Thee Stallion shared details about her injuries with Gayle King of CBS.
Lanez, whose original name is Daystar Peterson, already faced two charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm.
The Canadian rapper previously pleaded not guilty to these two charges.
Prosecutors on Monday added a third charge of discharging a firearm "in a grossly negligent manner which could result in injury or death to a person," reports say.
Lanez had been under house arrest since October but was released as Jury selection began.
The trial in the case is set to begin next week.
