Florence Welch's musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel "The Great Gatsby" is set to premiere in 2024.

The musical, titled Gatsby, will premiere at American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 2024.

The Florence + The Machine frontwoman is collaborating with Grammy nominee Thomas Bartlett, also known as Doveman, on the project to write the lyrics and music.

The musical version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's famous 1925 novel is jointly produced by Len Blavatnik and Amanda Ghost for Unigram in association with Robert Fox.

"This book has haunted me for a large part of my life. It contains some of my favourite lines in literature," Welch said in a statement when the project was announced. "Musicals were my first love, and I feel a deep connection to Fitzgerald's broken romanticism."

Previously, Welch had worked on "Over the Love" from the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann's Great Gatsby film starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
