U2's Songs of Surrender has debuted atop Billboard's Top Album Sales chart dated April 1.
Songs Of Surrender sold 42,000 copies in the US in the week ending March 23, according to Luminate.
Songs of Surrender is a companion album to Bono's recent memoir "Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story." U2 have reimagined 40 songs from their catalog for the new album. The record dropped on March 17.
Songs Of Surrender was curated and produced by The Edge. The band revisits some of the most celebrated songs of their 40+ year career, including "With Or Without You," "One," "Beautiful Day," "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "Invisible."
The album also arrives at No. 1 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums, Vinyl Albums and Top Current Album Sales charts. It also debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
