Mariah Carey and ABBA are among the first recipients of the new BRIT Billion Award.

They are joined by AJ Tracey, Headie One, RAYE, Rita Ora, Sam Smith, Lewis Capaldi, Ellie Goulding, Anne-Marie, Coldplay and George Ezra.

Accepting her award, Carey said, "I'm really honored to be one of the recipients of the BRIT Billion Award. I'm so grateful to my fans for their endless and enduring support. I love you UK lambily and cannot wait to come back to your side of the pond and create more magical moments together."

The newly-launched award celebrates those artists who have surpassed the milestone of one billion U.K. streams across their career, calculated by the Official Charts Company.

Recognizing an artist's combined success across multiple projects (including lead artist and feature credits), the introduction of the BRIT Billion award reflects the impact of streaming; which now makes up more than 85 percent of the U.K.'s recorded music consumption.
