Morgan Wallen has announced that he is postponing six weeks of shows following doctor's advice to go on vocal rest after he re-aggravated an injury suffered during his One Night at a Time Tour.
"I got some bad news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center yesterday," Wallen shared on social media. "After taking ten days of vocal rest, I performed three shows last weekend in Florida and by the third one I felt terrible. So I went in and got scoped yesterday, and they told me that I reinjured my vocal cords and that I have vocal fold trauma. Their advice is that I go on vocal rest for six weeks, so that's what I'm going to do."
"We are working on rescheduling all the dates during this timeframe. We've almost got that done but some of them are pending, so I'll keep you updated," he continued. "I won't be able to make these festivals that I have during this timeframe, but we are going to make those right next year."
"This is just the choice I had to make. I hate it, but I love you guys," Wallen said in the two-minute video.
Wallen subsequently announced five upcoming tour stops, including Houston, Texas, and both Atlanta, Georgia, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, dates, have been rescheduled for later this year.
Meanwhile, shows in Hershey, Pennsylvania; East Rutherford, New Jersey; and Virginia Beach, Virginia, have been rescheduled for 2024.
New dates for Wallen's shows in Austin, Texas, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, are currently to be determined.
The country superstar's vocal issues first came to light when he canceled his headlining portion of his concert in Oxford, Mississippi, on April 23.
At the time, his team issued a written message that said he'd been working with doctors to treat his voice, but he wasn't able to sing that night.
