After moving mostly higher early in the session, stocks have seen further upside over the course of the trading day on Tuesday. The major averages have all climbed firmly into positive territory, partly offsetting recent weakness.
In recent trading, the major averages have reached new highs for the session. The tech-heavy Nasdaq is up 179.95 points or 1.4 percent at 13,515.72, the S&P 500 is up 40.70 points or 0.9 percent at 4,369.52 and the Dow is up 194.28 points or 0.6 percent at 33,908.99.
