Doja Cat's "Paint The Town Red" rose to the top of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart dated September 2, climbing from No. 5, after going viral on TikTok.
The song's rise marks Doja Cat's second Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs No. 1, after "Say So," featuring Nicki Minaj, ruled for two weeks in May 2020.
"Paint the Town Red" has also climbed to the top of the Hot Rap Songs chart, earning Doja Cat her first No. 1 on the list. The song has moved into the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, advancing 15-5 on the all-genre lest.
According to Luminate, "Paint the Town Red" registered 21.1 million official U.S. streams in the tracking week ended August 24th, up 49% from a week earlier. The jump in streams has resulted in the track moving up 4-1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart.
"Paint the Town Red" has risen from 4 to 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales list, selling 5,000 downloads in the tracking week, up 81% compared with the prior frame.
