The Grand Ole Opry recently announced plans for its 98th birthday weekend in October.
According to the announcement, the event celebrating Women of Country Music, will take place from October 4-7, and will feature performances by Opry member Lauren Alaina, CMA/ACM reigning female vocalist winner and Opry NextStage alum Lainey Wilson, and Opry star Crystal Gayle.
The celebrations will kick off with Alaina and Wilson starting the proceedings with their Wednesday Night Opry show on October 4th. Gayle will serve as spotlight artist as Opry Country Classics celebrates Queens of Country on October 5th.
The Opry's birthday weekend is also set to include a special performance and fan Q&A event in the Opry House's Studio A featuring fan favorites Chapel Hart saluting their female country music heroes on Saturday at 1 pm.
On October 7th, country star Sara Evans will be inducted into the Opry in recognition of her 25-year-plus career.
On October 8, residents of Tennessee will have the opportunity to experience the Opry's popular backstage tour free of cost.
