Grammy-nominated country trio Midland recently released their cover version of Glen Campbell's superhit song "Wichita Lineman."
The Midland trio of Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson, for whom "Wichita Lineman" has long been a favorite, produced the cover version themselves.
"It's haunting melodies and lush arrangements hark back to a time when music was more sophisticated and the stories more colorful… A notion that has inspired and continues to influence our sound and songwriting," says Wystrach. "The heartache and longing in the sparse lyrics provide ample space for soulful vocals that ache and move with the beat without even saying much."
"Wichita Lineman," which Campbell originally performed in 1968, was hailed as "the greatest song ever written" by Nobel Prize-winning songwriter Bob Dylan.
