Neo-psychedelic rock band MGMT recently shared a music video for "Bubblegum Dog," the latest single from their forthcoming album, Loss of Life.
Tom Scharpling and Julia Vickerman directed the video, which features homages to several videos from the 1990s era. It shows Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser go all in for '90s alternative rock.
Soul patches, cowboy hats, and the MTV Unplugged set, are all in place in the visual, which also features a cameo from What We Do in the Shadows star Mark Proksch.
During the episode of "The Best Show With Tom Scharpling" on November 28th, Scharpling teased the arrival of "Bubblegum Dog" by calling it the best video he's ever done.
Loss of Life also features the previously released single "Mother Nature." The album also includes a collaboration with Christine and the Queens on a track called "Dancing in Babylon."
