KalVista Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (KALV) on Monday announced that Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has granted marketing and manufacturing approval for Ekterly for the treatment of acute attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older.
KalVista said kterly will be commercialized in Japan by KalVista's partner, Kaken Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., which plans to launch the treatment shortly after it is listed on Japan's National Health Insurance (NHI) system.
Ekterly has received seven regulatory approvals across major global markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Switzerland, Australia, Singapore, and Japan, for treating HAE attacks in individuals aged 12 and older.
KalVista Pharma shares closed at $15.23, up 1.53% on Friday.
