The total number of building permits issued in November was up a seasonally adjusted 2.8 percent on month in November, Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday - coming in at 3,517.
That follows the upwardly revised 0.7 percent decline in October (originally -0.9 percent).
In the year ended November 2025, the actual number of new dwellings consented was 35,969, up 7.0 percent from the year ended November 2024.

In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
