Hang Seng May Hand Back Tuesday's Gains

The Hong Kong stock market on Tuesday wrote a finish to the three-day slide in which it had given up almost 1,650 points or 6.5 percent. The Hang Seng Index now rests just above the 25,050-point plateau although it's expected to open in the red on Wednesday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets suggests renewed pressure thanks to a rebound by crude oil prices. The European markets were mixed and flat and the U.S. bourses were slightly lower and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.
