U.S. Dollar Climbs Against Euro, Pound

The U.S. dollar climbed against the euro and the pound in the New York session on Friday.

The greenback advanced to a 3-day high of 1.1759 against the euro, from an early nearly 2-month low of 1.1849.

The greenback recovered to 1.3513 against the pound, from an early 2-month low of 1.3599. This may be compared to an early 3-day high of 1.3504.

The currency is seen finding resistance around 1.14 against the euro and 1.30 against the pound.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
