Now at a fresh record closing high, the Taiwan Stock Exchange sits just above the 39,610-point plateau although it may spin its wheels on Tuesday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is unclear amid uncertainties surrounding the conflict in the Middle East. The European markets were down and the U.S. bourses were mixed and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.
The TSE finished sharply higher again on Monday following gains from the financial shares, plastics companies and technology stocks. For the day, the index jumped 684.23 points or 1.76 percent to finish at 39,616.63 after trading between 39,607.74 and 40,194.92.
