Japan Shares May Find Traction On Tuesday

The Japanese stock market has finished lower in three straight sessions, plunging almost 2,400 points or 4 percent in that span. The Nikkei sits just above the 60,800-point plateau although it may stop the bleeding on Tuesday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is soft on ongoing pessimism over the conflict in the Middle East and concerns over the outlook for interest rates. The European markets were up and the U.S. bourses were mixed and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.

The European Central Bank became the first major central bank to move in response to the rising inflationary pressures in the backdrop of the conflict in the Middle East. In North America, the U.S. inflation and trade data as well as Canada’s central bank decision gained attention. The Chinese trade data was the main news in Asia.
