Montreal-based IT services firm CGI Inc. (GIB-A.TO,GIB) on Monday said it has agreed to acquire Telia's cloud and IT end-user services business in Finland and form a strategic partnership with the telecom operator. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the deal, about 250 Telia employees will transfer to CGI, the companies said.
The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals, excludes Telia's Helsinki Datacenter.
The agreement will expand CGI's data center capacity in the Nordics and allow it to offer services ranging from high-security data centers to hybrid and public cloud, CGI said.
Telia will use CGI for secure data center infrastructure and network services as part of the partnership, the companies said.
In pre-market activity on the NYSE, shares of CGI were up 0.32 percent, changing hands at $70.00, after closing Friday's regular session 3.18 percent higher.
