Costain Group (COST.L, CTNGY), an engineering, construction, and consulting firm, announced Thursday that it has been selected by Norfolk County Council to design and build new road infrastructure for the West Winch Housing scheme near King's Lynn, Norfolk.
The contract forms a significant part of the overall 122 million pounds scheme.
The design work is set to begin this year with construction expected to start in 2027.
The project will deliver a new road linking the A47 and A10 to support up to 4,000 new homes planned south of King's Lynn.
The company's scope includes designing and building the link road, constructing new roundabouts to provide access to housing developments, creating a cycle path alongside the road and dualling nearly one mile of the A47 trunk road.
The company said that the project is intended to support housing growth and improve transport infrastructure in the region.
On Wednesday, Costain closed trading 2.94% higher at GBp 210 on the London Stock Exchange.
