On Friday, nVent Electric plc. (NVT), an electrical connection provider, reported higher profit for the second quarter as revenues rose from the previous year. Furthermore, the company raised its guidance for the year 2026 and issued guidance for the third quarter.
In the pre-market activity on the NYSE, the shares were trading 9.66 percent higher at $158.91, after closing Thursday's trading 8.38 percent up.
Net income for the second quarter rose to $215.9 million from $105.9 million in the same quarter last year. Earnings per share went up to $1.32 from $0.67 the previous year.
Organic sales growth grew to 46.9 percent in the second quarter. Adjusted net income from continuing operations increased to $237.2 million from $140.6 million in the previous year. Earnings per share rose to $1.45 from $0.86 a year ago.
Net sales increased to $1.47 billion, from $963.1 billion in the prior year.
Looking ahead to 2026, the company stated that it estimates reported sales growth of 37 to 39 percent versus prior guidance of 26 to 28 percent. The organic sales growth is expected to be in the range of 32 to 34 percent, compared to the prior guidance of 21 to 23 percent. The earnings per share are expected to be in the range of $4.29 to $4.39 and $5.00 to $5.10 on the adjusted basis, compared to the prior guidance of $3.68 to $3.78 and adjusted earnings of $4.45 to $4.55.
Looking ahead to the third quarter, the company expects reported sales growth of 32 to 35 percent and organic sales growth of 32 to 35 percent. It also expects earnings per share in the range of $1.18 to $1.21 and $1.35 to $1.38 on the adjusted basis.
