United Parcel Service (UPS) plans to invest more than $2 billion across its international, healthcare and supply chain solutions businesses between 2024 and 2028, as the company expands its logistics capabilities amid increasingly complex global supply chains.

The investments include a new hub in the Philippines this year, a Canadian facility in Ontario scheduled to open next year and a new air hub at Hong Kong International Airport in 2028.

UPS has also launched a technology-enabled logistics centre in Taiwan and a supply chain solutions facility in Amsterdam combining freight, brokerage and cold-chain services.

UPS said automation and robotics at its Taiwan facility have helped improve supply chain speed by about one day. The company has also expanded flight services between Paris and Hong Kong and between Shenzhen and Sydney to meet rising demand.

The investments are aimed at helping customers diversify supply chains, respond to disruptions and gain greater flexibility. UPS has also committed $48 million to 27 temperature-controlled facilities to support its healthcare logistics business, including shipments of temperature-sensitive medicines such as GLP-1 drugs.
