Hurco Companies Reports Net Income In Q3

Hurco Companies (HURC) reported third quarter net income of $2.31 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $3.69 million, or $0.58 per share, for the corresponding period last year. Sales and service fees for the third quarter were $47.29 million, an increase of 3%, compared to the corresponding prior year period. Orders for the third quarter were $51.37 million, an increase of 25%, compared to the corresponding period.

Greg Volovic, Chief Executive Officer, said, "Just last quarter we said our disciplined execution of strategic pricing and tighter cost control through the down cycle was beginning to show, and we were working our way back to profitable quarters. This quarter, we were profitable."

In pre-market trading on NasdaqGS, Hurco shares are up 3.77 percent to $23.66.
