On Monday, Veracyte Inc. (VCYT), a diagnostics company, announced that it has acquired Convergent Genomics, including Convergent Genomics' UroAmp platform and its proprietary urinary tumor DNA technology to Veracyte's portfolio.

UroAmp has been clinically validated for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, including treatment monitoring and post-treatment surveillance.

Veracyte will pay $150 million upfront in cash, plus up to $30 million based on milestones related to UroAmp reimbursement. The company had already included Convergent's operating costs in its 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance, so it is not changing that guidance.

Convergent Genomics CEO Brian Slingerland said the acquisition combines UroAmp's technology and expertise with Veracyte's commercial and research capabilities. He believes the deal will speed up the development of tools to help doctors make better treatment and monitoring decisions for bladder cancer.

In the after hours on the Nasdaq, the shares were trading at $41.21 with no stock movement, after closing Monday's trading 0.83 percent up.
