Rihanna Reaches Number One With 'Take A Bow' Four Years Ago

2010 - Slipknot Bassist Paul Gray Dies
2010 - Slipknot Bassist Paul Gray Dies

Original Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was found dead in room 431 at the Towneplace Suites hotel in Urbandale, Iowa, on May 24, 2010. The band was touring in support of their 2008 release “All Hope Is Gone” when Gray accidentally overdosed on a mix of morphine and the anesthetic fentanyl.

Gray had previously battled drug addiction and was arrested in 2003 for possession of marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. An autopsy following his death showed that, in addition to the drug overdose, Gray was suffering from heart disease.

And though Gray was plagued by drug addiction throughout his career, his wife reminded fans after his death that he was also a consummate professional and dedicated family man.

"I don't want people to judge him for the mistake he made," his wife Brenna told Revolver magazine in February, 2011. "He wasn't just a drug addict; that was a little part of his life that he just couldn't overcome."
