1972 - Eagles Debut Album Released

The Eagles released their self-titled debut album on June 17, 1972.

The band had formed the previous year around Glenn Fry and Don Henley, who worked together as part of Linda Ronstadt's backing band. Along with fellow founding members Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner, they would play on her self-titled 1971 album, before going out on their own.

Their debut disc would include a number of the band's signature hits, including "Witchy Woman" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling." It also featured "Take It Easy," their first single, co-written by singer/songwriter Jackson Browne.
