Sheldon Adelson, 83, is chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands Corporation. He is said to be the most powerful guy in Sin City. Adelson purchased the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas and imploded it in 1996 to make way for the Venetian, a Venice-themed resort hotel and casino. His business empire now stretches beyond Vegas and includes gambling resorts in Singapore and Macau.
